TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Ellen Birmingham and freshman Meredith Wagner represented the Ohio State women’s cross country team Monday afternoon at the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Indiana State University’s 6k Wabash Valley Family Sports Complex.
Running in her final cross country race as a Buckeye, Birmingham finished 73rd overall in a time of 21:08.5, a 73-spot improvement from her 146th-place finish at the 2009 championship. Wagner crossed the finish line two spots behind Birmingham with a 75th-place time of 21:10.2.
Villanova’s Sheila Reid bested a total of 253 competitors to capture the individual title in 20:07. Reid and the Wildcats also claimed the team championship with a total of 120 points.
