COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten women’s basketball Foreign Tour Team earned its third-consecutive victory on its tour through Europe, defeating Slovan Bratislava 72-48 Sunday in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Big Ten squad jumped out to a 39-29 halftime lead and then put the game away in the second half on a three-point play with 5:24 to play by Ohio State’s D’wan Shackleford (So., Newark, Ohio/Newark). Shackleford registered her best all-around performance thus far of the tour, scoring 11 points, while grabbing five rebounds and amassing a team-high four steals.

Penn State’s Lisa Shepherd and Iowa’s Cara Consuegra led the Big Ten team with 12 points apiece, while Shackleford and Wisconsin’s Tamara Moore each scored 11 points.

The Big Ten Foreign Tour Team returns to action Wednesday in Sopron, Hungary, for the first of two games with Soproni BBC.
