Annual conference awards to be announced live during special programming

CHICAGO The Big Ten Network will present the live, exclusive announcements of the annual Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball awards during two special programs in March, including segments during THE BIG TEN WOMEN’S SHOW on Monday, March 3, and a special edition of BIG TEN TONIGHT on Monday, March 10. Dave Revsine will host BIG TEN TONIGHT alongside analysts Gene Keady, Jimmy Jackson and Tim Doyle, with selected award winners joining them during the 30-minute program.

“These shows tip off an exciting time for all basketball fans, culminating in live games and coverage from the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments in Indianapolis,” Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman said. “More than any other period during the season, the Big Ten Network will be the fans’ best source for Big Ten basketball news, highlights and in-depth analysis.”

The All-Big Ten women’s teams, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year as selected by coaches and media will be named during the THE BIG TEN WOMEN’S SHOW, beginning at 6:30 PM ET Monday, March 3. The coaches also will select an All-Freshman Team, All-Defensive Team, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Player of the Year and Sportsmanship Award honorees.

The special edition of BIG TEN TONIGHT at 6 PM ET on March 10, which also will repeat at 9 PM ET that night, will reveal the All-Big Ten teams as selected by both the coaches and the media. Coaches and media each will select a Big Ten Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year, while coaches also will name an All-Freshman Team, All-Defensive Team, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year and Sportsmanship Award honorees.
