COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten has announced the 2015 conference home/away pairings and Ohio State will welcome Michigan, Nebraska, Rutgers and Indiana to Columbus, in addition to hosting the 2015 Big Ten Tournament, May 7-9.
The league will maintain its 23-game conference schedule with each Big Ten team facing eight of a possible 13 opponents. There will be seven weekend series and one midweek doubleheader with one’s travel partner.
In 2015, the Buckeyes host four weekend series, while hitting the road for three weekends and a doubleheader at Penn State. Ohio State will welcome Big Ten regular season co-champions Michigan and Nebraska, who both advanced to NCAA Super Regionals last spring, in addition to Big Ten newcomer Rutgers and Indiana. On the road, the Buckeyes will face Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State and Northwestern.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, Buckeye Field will be home to the Big Ten Tournament. It marks the first time since 2007 that Ohio State is hosting the event. That year, the top-seeded Buckeyes defeated Northwestern in the championship game, 2-1, to claim the title. With the addition of Rutgers and Maryland, 12 of the 14 teams will quality for the single-elimination tournament, which features opening round games on May 7, quarterfinals on May 8 and the semifinals and final game on May 9.
