COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 13 Ohio State used a 33-0 run that spanned 7:32 of the second half to break away from Dartmouth for a 103-70 victory Friday evening in Value City Arena.
The run broke open a seven-point game midway through the third quarter. The Buckeyes, who improved to 10-2 on the season, scored 60 points and shot 60 percent in the second half.
Kelsey Mitchell led four Buckeyes in double-figures with 22 points to go along with five assists and zero turnovers. Sierra Calhoun continued her string of solid performances with 20 points on 4-of-7 from long range.
Columbus native Andi Norman led the Big Green with a game-high 23 points.
Dartmouth jumped out to the early lead and held it for the first eight minutes of the game. The Buckeyes then went on a 9-0 run in the final minute of the first quarter, capped by a deep Mitchell three and OSU led 22-19 after the first.
The Buckeyes led 43-31 at the break and Dartmouth’s 13th three of the night cut the lead to 58-51 with 4:14 to play in third. OSU then took over on both ends and ended the quarter on a 20-0 run to regain control.
The run extended to 33-0 through the first three and a half minutes of the fourth quarter as the Buckeyes removed all doubt.
The Buckeyes hit the road but will stay in state to face as they travel to Cincinnati to face the Bearcats on Sunday, Dec. 17. The game will start at 4 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
