COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio State baseball team will be giving away schedule cards and posters and will sign autographs prior to three upcoming events at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The team is promoting the upcoming season which gets underway Feb. 23 vs. James Madison in Tampa, Fla.

The four team captains – Matt Angle, Dan DeLucia, Eric Fryer and Jacob Howell – will be available on east end of the concourse near the Varsity “O” Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday before the men’s basketball game vs. Purdue. The four student-athletes will be available from 10:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.

Later that day before the start of the men’s hockey game vs. Northern Michigan, seniors Tony Kennedy, Chris Macke, Adam Schneider and Jason Zoeller will be set up on the concourse near the northeast corner of the building. Those student-athletes will be available from 7 until 8:05 p.m.

Another four baseball players will be available before the women’s basketball game against Michigan State Feb. 18. Those student-athletes are yet to be determined, but will sign autographs from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. near the Varsity “O” Athletics Hall of Fame.

Ohio State, which began practice last Monday, opens the season in its own tournament, the Buckeye Classic, Feb. 23-25, at the New York Yankees minor league complex in Tampa. James Madison, Kansas State and Seton Hall will join the Buckeyes at the event. The home opener vs. Toledo is March 28 at 2 p.m.
