COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team overpowered Cleveland State 15-4 at Bill Davis Stadium Wednesday night.

Mike Lockwood (So., Powell, Ohio) put the Buckeyes on top in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run to left field, his 16th of the season. The Buckeyes opened up a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Jason Trott (Jr., Dublin, Ohio) homered to left field, bringing in Mark Carek (Sr., Bowling Green, Ohio) who had led off with a walk. Cleveland State capitalized on two OSU errors in the fourth, scoring two runs to move the score to 3-2. Chad Ehrnsberger (Fr., Kalida, Ohio) led off the Buckeye half with a walk and moved to third on a double by Tom Durant (Jr., Columbus, Ohio). Lockwood was intentionally walked to load the bases and Matt Porras walked Carek to bring in Ehrnsberger. Mike Kremblas (Sr., Carroll, Ohio) cleared the bags with a double to right center field, giving OSU a 7-2 lead. CSU put up a third run in the top of the fifth but OSU fired right back with six runs in the strength of Lockwood’s second home run of the day.

The Buckeyes move to 33-13 on the year and will host Pittsburgh in a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 4 p.m.
