Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State University Department of Athletics has named Tim Stried assistant director of athletics communications, Steve Snapp, associate director of athletics, announced April 1.

Stried will coordinate all media services for the men’s soccer, softball and women’s gymnastics teams and several other Ohio State teams.

A graduate of Bluffton University, Stried served as his alma matter’s sports information director from 1999-2003, running an operation for 16 sports at the Division III school. Stried also coached football as an assistant to Carlin Carpenter from 1998-2002. Since June 2003 he has served as an intern for Ohio State’s athletics communications office.

“I am very pleased and excited that we are able to have Tim stay on with us,” Snapp said. “He has made tremendous contributions to our office over the past two years and we look forward to him continuing in his new role.”

Stried, 29, was born in Newport News, Virgina, grew up in Marion, Ohio and currently resides in Worthington with his wife, Anna, a high school math teacher at Buckeye Valley High School in Delaware, Ohio.
