Sophomore Jennifer Desson led the women’s ice hockey team with four goals including a hat trick in the Buckeyes’ first sweep of the season over St. Cloud State Nov. 14-15. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native scored her second career hat trick including the game-winning goal in the 5-2 victory Nov. 14. Desson also recorded the game-winning goal in the 3-0 shutout Nov. 15. Desson is tied for 13th in the nation averaging 0.75 goals per game. She also leads the team with six goals this season and is tied for second with six points.

Punter B.J. Sander earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week honors Monday after his performance in the Buckeyes’ 16-13 victory over Purdue. Sander, who also claimed the conference weekly award Nov. 3, placed seven of his 10 punts inside Purdue’s 20-yard line, forcing the Boilermakers to an average starting field position at the 15-yard line on the day. The senior totaled 413 yards on his 10 punts, including five kicks downed inside the 10-yard line.
