COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University women’s volleyball family gathered at an establishment near downtown Columbus on Sunday (Apr. 10) for a postseason banquet, celebrating the achievements of the 2016 season. The Buckeyes advanced to their third consecutive NCAA Regional semifinals and fifth time since 2010.

In addition to senior recognitions and a plethora of ‘thank you’s, the following season awards were presented:

COACHES AWARD Kylie Randall
Selected by the coaching staff for exemplifying what it means to be a Buckeye teammate, mentor, role model and all-around person representing the program.

HEART AWARD Valeria León
Given to the student-athlete which shows the most heart throughout the season.

MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER Taylor Hughes
Voted on by the student-athletes.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Taylor Sandbothe

RADSTER AWARD (best defensive player) Valeria León

MOST IMPROVED Madison Smeathers
