COLUMBUS, Ohio — The final piece of the 2018-19 newcomer class has fallen into place as the Buckeyes announced the addition of Andrea Brändli on Wednesday.
Brändli, a goaltender hailing from Switzerland, served as a backup on the Swiss Olympic team in the 2018 Winter Games held in PyeongChang. In addition to her duties with the Swiss national team, Brändli made five appearances in net for SC Weinfelden Ladies and seven appearances for EHC Schaffhausen in the Swiss Division 2 last season. She has also won two medals at the Women’s World Junior Championships.
The goalie joins the six other newcomers and the returning core of the 2018 Frozen Four team that looks poised to continue the successful upswing the team started last season.
