COLUMBUS, Ohio –Ohio State’s Amanda Furrer (So., Spokane, Wash.) finished fifth in the 50 meter 3-position women’s junior rifle championship at the 50th International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship in Munich, Germany. Furrer shot a 579 aggregate scoring recording a 200 in prone, a 183 standing and 196 kneeling. Stine Nielsen of Denmark won the event with a 587.

Furrer competed in the 50-meter 3-position women’s junior team competition leading the United States to a first place finish with a 1,747 team score. Germany finished second with a 1,733. She posted a 586 aggregate in the event with Sarah Scherer adding 582 and Sarah Beard 579 to complete the team.

She competed in the English match (prone position at 50-meters outdoors) finishing 12th. Furrer posted target scores of 100, 100, 96, 99, 98 and 99 for her 592 score. Sharon Barazani (USA) won the event with a 596.
