Ohio State divers Bianca Alvarez and Katie Bell just finished a week of competition with Team USA at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China, helping the United States win the women’s silver medal in team competition.

Bell competed in the 10-meter platform event; the Columbus, Ohio, product placed seventh in the preliminary competition with a score of 309.10; she was 14th in the semifinals, scoring 271.25.

Alvarez, from Miami, Fla., represented the United States in three events. She ranked eighth in the 3-meter springboard, with a score in the finals round of 277.55; she was fifth in the preliminaries (320.10) and seventh in the semifinals (294.35) of that event. In the 1-meter springboard, Alvarez was 10th in the preliminary round with a score of 246.60.

Alvarez and teammate Carrie Dragland took the bronze medal in 3-meter synchronized diving – the final diving event of the Games on Monday – with a score of 292.50. China won the gold medal and Ukraine won the silver.
