COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman midfielder Dominique Alexander was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for May 3, the conference announced. Alexander, from Baldwin, N.Y., shared the Buckeye lead with four goals against Bellarmine last week.

Alexander had a career-high four tallies and points against Bellarmine on Saturday in Ohio Stadium. He opened the scoring early in the first quarter and scored late in the second to cut the Bellarmine lead to one. He completed the hat trick with 29 seconds left in the third quarter to tie the game at eight-all and his final goal came with 1:53 left in regulation to force overtime as Ohio State rallied from three goals down in the fourth quarter. He had six shots and one groundball in the contest.

A starter in all 14 games this season, Alexander has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. He has a point in all but three games, with two or more points in five of the last seven games.

Led by four-time honoree Logan Schuss, Ohio State has received nine conference player of the week accolades this season, including seven Rookie of the Week honors in the 11 weeks of the award.
