COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rising junior forward Adelaide Penzone has been selected to attend the 2018 Young Women’s National Championship, USA Field Hockey announced on Thursday.
The Young Women’s National Championship serves as a high-level, international structured competition which is an election avenue to Junior National Camp and an opportunity for selection the 2018-19 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team and U.S. Women’s National Development Team. The event will take place at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa., from June 25-29.
Penzone, a native of Powell, Ohio, played in 18 games for the Buckeyes this past season, notching a goal and an assist. Penzone was a part of Ohio State’s first winning season since 2012, helping the team to a 10-9 record. As a freshman, Penzone was third on the team in both goals (four) and points (eight), playing in 15 games and starting in eight. Penzone is also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in Exploration.
