FOREST CITY, N.C. – Rain in North Carolina has forced the cancellation of the remaining games at the Western Carolina Tournament. Three games were played Friday, including Ohio State recording a 7-1 victory over Army in the opening game of the tournament, but weather rolled in Saturday morning, the field became soaked and spongy, and all of the games Saturday and Sunday were rained out.

The Buckeyes, 5-3 on the season, departed Shelby, N.C., where they were staying, by bus late Sunday morning and are expected to arrive back in Columbus at approximately 8 p.m. The week ahead includes the last week of classes before finals week and then travelling to Winter Haven, Fla., for three games in the Russ Matt Invitational: Friday vs. Illinois State at noon; Saturday at 9 a.m. vs. Yale and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. against Army.
