From Megan …
Day One
We left Buckeye Field early! (by one minute!) In our layover in Atlanta, Alicia Herron, Melanie Nichols, Leesa Gresham and myself had the pleasure of enjoying some REAL SOUTHERN cooking (as real as you can get in an airport) with fried chicken, mac ‘n cheese, green beans, corn and of course corn bread! While we were all boarding our plane for Pensacola, Fla. Brittany Goodchild was sitting in her seat and somehow just slid her seat cushion (life vest) to the floor and was holding up the line of inpatient travelers. She was ready for some swimming in the sunshine state, too bad we were headed to Mobile, Alabama. (wrong weekend B Mon)

On the hour bus ride to Mobile from Pensacola, our poor bus driver, Jerry, was having a malfunction with the GPS and just kept telling him to “Turn Left, Turn Left, Turn Left…” But, Jerry brought it back and safely got us to our destination. Also on the bus trip, we like to have fun so I thought it would be funny to give Leesa a shark fin (that’s pulling some of the top of her hair to look like a fin). She decides to get me back with the help of Melanie Nichols by “turtling” my back pack (turning my back pack inside out). Bottom line is that…I will be getting them back. ๐Ÿ™‚

On our way to practice, still no food since that amazing southern cooking, Vanessa Spears entertained us with her great story telling about a funny situation with Melanie Nichols. That was a great way to give our abs an extra work out! Our practice was short and sweet, and the outfielders finished with green pants.

Finally, we get to dinner and get to eat some bomb.com Italian food. Once we get to the hotel we had to pass out the uniforms, which was chaos. We also had the pleasure of using these new, sweet grips that coach got us. They have our name on them along with our number and a very nice quote, “Our honor defend, we will fight till the end” Thank you Julia Pecina for doing my grip because I was struggling with it.

Wise word of Mobile, Alabama: “Learning today, Earning tomorrow.”

Goodnight Columbus and all of our friendly followers ๐Ÿ™‚
