DES MOINES, Iowa – Ohio State’s Big Ten champion 4x400m relay team represented the Scarlet and Gray in semifinal action Friday afternoon at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Aaron Roberts, Korbin Smith, Marcus Brooks and Thomas Murdaugh combined for a time of 3:07.06 to take sixth in heat two and 13th overall, good for Second Team All-American honors. Mississippi State posted the top overall time (3:03.39), while Texas A&M won the Buckeyes’ section and finished second overall in 3:03.48. The Bulldogs and Aggies will vie for the national title along with six other qualifying teams on Saturday.

Friday’s race marks the end of the 2011 campaign for Ohio State, a season that saw the Scarlet and Gray finish in the top 5 at both the Big Ten indoor and outdoor championships. The Buckeyes will return all but two graduating seniors for the 2012 season.
