WEEK THREE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State Sophomore wide receiver Noah Brown is this week’s Big Ten Conference offensive player of the week. The native of Flanders, N.J. and graduate of Pope John XIII High School tied a school record with four touchdown receptions from quarterback J.T. Barrett and helped spark the Buckeyes to a convincing, 45-24, victory over No. 14 Oklahoma Saturday at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Brown’s TD grabs covered 4, 37, 21 and 8 yards and they included a spectacular one-handed catch that he pinned to the back of a Sooner defender and held on to while getting both feet in bounds and falling to his back. Brown also had a fifth reception on the day for a personal-best in both receptions with five and receiving yards with 72.
Brown is currently second on the team in receptions with nine for 134 yards and a 14.9 yards-per-catch average. He is tied for second nationally with his five receiving touchdowns.
Barrett Among Great 8 Again
J.T. Barrett has been named to the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award “Great 8” list for his performance in the win over Oklahoma. Barrett was a sharp 14-of-20 passing for 152 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also gained 74 yards rushing.
The Dave O’Brien award will announce one Quarterback of the Week on Tuesday. Voting for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award (season award) is live on VoteOBrien.org. Fan voting counts as five percent of the total balloting.
