COLUMBUS, Ohio-Several members of Ohio State’s 1960 men’s basketball team stopped by practice Saturday at Value City Arena as part of weekend festivities celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the 1960 NCAA Championship season.

John Havlicek, Dick Furry, Joe Roberts, Mel Nowell and Bob Knight and others took in the 90-minute practice before Coach Knight addressed the team briefly.

The 1960 squad will be on hand to be recognized at halftime of the Buckeyes’ home game Sunday vs. Minnesota. Tip time is 1 p.m. and the game will be televised by CBS.

Coach Knight took the opportunity to instruct Evan Turner on the proper dunking technique and passed along some advice to Thad Matta on how to use screens to free Jon Diebler.

Both the current team and the 1960 squad will gather this evening for a ticketed reception at St. John Arena, where the 1960 team went 12-0 and 25-3 overall en route to the NCAA title.
