Mt. Notre Dame High School Played four years (outside hitter) for Joe Burke … first team All-Girls Greater Cincinnati League, first team all-city and all-state, team MVP and team captain as a senior … honorable mention GGCL as a junior … state runner-up as a sophomore.

Cincy Classics Club Played for Kevin Lucas … Prep Volleyball sophomore #79 … senior aces and All-American.

Personal Full name is Marissa Grace Otto … daughter of Joe and Marti Otto … has two sisters, Jenny and Kate … outside interests include shopping, hanging out with friends, running, laying out in the sun … selected Ohio State because: “I grew up a Buckeyes and wanted to go to my dream school. I always knew I wanted to go to a big school, so OSU was the perfect school for me.”

Why did you start playing volleyball?: My two older sisters played and I would always go to their practices and play against them.

BUCKEYES HOST SCARLET & GRAY MATCH, AUG 24, 7 P.M.

The women’s volleyball team will play an intersquad match at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 in St. John Arena. Admission is free. The Scarlet & Gray match is the final warmup before the season begins later in the week.

“VOLLEYRULES” TO FOLLOW SCARLET & GRAY MATCH

An informal question and answer session will be held immediately after the Scarlet & Gray match. Following “VOLLEYRULES”, an autograph session will be held.

OSU OPENS 2010 SEASON WITH VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH

The Buckeyes will open the 2010 season by hosting Virginia Commonwealth at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27 in the Sports Imports Classic. Play continues Saturday with OSU hosting Western Michigan at 11 a.m. and Pittsburgh at 7 p.m.
